This is where I become a little unsure on if the new RAM is going to be compatible with it, I don't see why it wouldn't be since they are both DDR3 SDRAM, but I want to be certain.įinally, I wondered if the screw driver set I have linked at the bottom of this thread along with everything else I intend on buying contains everything I need to complete this upgrade? Then I plan on replacing the 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 with Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz SDRAM. As far as I know there should be no problems with that but let me know if there is. I am going to start by removing the optical drive and replacing it with a OWC data doubler and fitting a Samsung 840 EVO 1TB in it. I am planning on upgrading the follow macbook, 2.66GHz MacBook Pro (MC373LL/A) which you can google for all the specs.
